People in Virginia's 5th District should be fairly compensated for the work that they do. They should have access to affordable health care and the education necessary to be successful in today’s rapidly-changing economy.
We must address the broken public dialogue in this country by talking at each other less and hearing each other more, identifying our shared values, and appreciating that policy issues are complex and that the best solution may lie somewhere between my way and your way.
We need to engage individuals, citizens' groups, churches, and faith communities to play a role in advocating for thoughtful and compassionate approaches to public policy, and working for justice, equity, and a more peaceful world.
